Brokenness
A hazy joy washes over me,
As I look into your eyes.
I love you,
but do you love me?
My doubt stifles my feelings,
As you embrace me with a smile.
So confident and sure,
You kiss me tenderly.
Yet I am afraid,
afraid to love.
Afraid of falling,
and getting hurt.
But you, your kisses,
they are so sure.
Are you the one?
I wish you were.
But I don’t want the risk, the pressure, the pain,
Of falling in love,
And being broken again.
